I have always felt Soldano amps sounded best through Soldano cabs with Marshall being a close second. The Deluxe Combo here is a little bit stiff and lacks a bit of warmth at first but with a little time in the cab section, it’s pretty easy to warm things up. The addition of premium IRs doesn’t work the same with a Kemper as it does with any other modeler. Clean-ish, a huge variety of rock and metal tones plus all the shred required by most humans. Absolutely but it wouldn’t benefit the profile. The amp has been brought into the AmpHub universe coupled with a power section whereas in the past the NRR-1 was best used with an additional power amp plugin. STL Tones and their great team have found a way to get those profiles out to a larger audience in a more affordable way. When it comes to the pack selection available, STL Tones was nice enough to send us all of the packs for review so we had a chance to go over literally every file of every single pack. The dual cabinet section is laid out great, functions easily and contains a modest but pretty solid selection that includes 112, 212 and 412 cabinets. I found the EMG 81/85 profiles sounded 10x better when used with my 81/85x set but the profiles were still great with passive pickups. I’d say so. The mid gain and rock tones are available though not nearly as plentiful as the higher gain tones.
